Danilo Vicioso

Who I am

  • Former COO of Tabs, a top-10 most viral brand on the internet
  • Built its creator program to 100M monthly social impressions, and the paid ad engine alongside it
  • Founded Mainstreet, a consumer home-services platform: a team of 70, $25M raised (Greylock, Khosla, YC, Tim Ferriss), and it failed
  • Before that: Quintessential Ventures, an early seat at a high-growth startup, and entrepreneur-in-residence at Prehype
  • I’m looking to move into growth specifically. The creative and ToF is the work I want to be doing every day

Rather than send a résumé I did a weekend of the job.

What I built

What I’d do here

  • My KPI: scale ad spend, hold target CAC. Everything else follows from that.
  • Week to week: launching a bunch of different experiments against your current best ad, losers killed early.
  • Scope and brief the work for UGC creators (cleaning, organizing and parent creators who already film their home routines), then keep a hook library of what won.
  • Reporting so you never have to ask. Daily CAC. Weekly what we learned. Monthly cohort payback.
  • I can run ads across channels (YouTube, Pinterest, search) but I’d start on Meta and only open the next one when CAC earns it.
  • Event tracking I’d spec and work through with your team. That part isn’t me.

I’d love to chat if this makes sense. Grab a time here.

GROWTH PLAN · BLUELAND · 28 SEPT 2026

Scale spend. Hold CAC.

One number to protect, and a plan to spend more on Meta without it moving: more messages beyond “microplastics” and “$10 samples”, creators refilling on camera, tested on a schedule, and stopped by gates we agree on before any money moves.

5 → 10creators, adding two a month after day 30 (proposed)
5–8new ads tested a week, inside the current budget (proposed)
$5,500creator cap in month one (proposed)
Day 30keep-or-stop call, on the numbers

Cover photos: Blueland, blueland.com. Every figure marked “proposed” is Danilo’s plan, not Blueland data.

01 · THE NUMBER

One number to protect. Seven ways it breaks. Three moves.

The number is blended CAC on Meta at the spend you want to reach. Everything below either protects it or tests whether it holds at a higher spend.

Clean Essentials Kit
Clean Essentials Kit
PROTECTTarget CAC at your chosen daily spend, set together in week one
THREE MOVES1. New messages beyond microplastics and the $10 sample
2. Creators refilling on camera, each with his or her own script
3. Landing pages and first-order offers tested against your product pages
02 · VARIETY

Only variety absorbs variety.

Blueland runs about 40 active ads, nearly all with multiple versions. Of the 11 read on 28 Sept, 8 are dishwasher, toilet or sample-pack ads, and several started in April and are still running. Long-running ads are a sign they work. They’re also the ones that tire first.

03 · DISTURBANCES

Scores are Danilo’s read from outside, to be re-scored in week one with your data.

04 · THE CEILING

The ceiling. Five lines, with the assumed ones labelled.

LINEVALUESTATUS

Refund rate, first orders5%ASSUMED, replace in week one

Refill margin60%ASSUMED, replace in week one
THE MATH, WITH THE ASSUMED LINES$44 × 60% = $26.40 first-order margin. × (1 − 5% refunds) = $25.08. + 3 refills × $21 × 60% = $37.80. Total $62.88 twelve-month margin per customer. That $62.88 is the most a customer can cost.Replace the assumed lines with your numbers and the ceiling recalculates. Target CAC sits well under it.
05 · TEST RAMP

The test ramp. The blanks are yours to fill on day one.

Tests run inside your current budget. Winners replace spend on tired ads. They don’t add to it.

06 · VOLUME

Whatever your CAC is, creative volume is what moves it.

At a fixed hit rate, more concepts tested means more winners, and more winners means more spend held at the same CAC. The hit rate is an assumption until your last six months replace it.

CONCEPTS TESTED / MONTHHIT RATE (ASSUMED)NEW WINNERS / MONTHSPEND EACH WINNER HOLDS (ASSUMED)ADDED SPEND AT TARGET CAC

07 · ALLOCATION

$60,00060% · scale proven winners
$20,00020% · test new concepts (5–8 a week)
$15,00015% · creator partnership ads

Proposed split. It shifts toward scaling as winners prove out, and toward testing when fatigue shows.

YouTubeA creator refill-routine video beats the best Meta adNeeds a proven script first
AmazonNot in scopeNot confirmed in the package
09 · PAYBACK

Payback is the real constraint, not CAC.

The first order is small: a $10 sample or a $44 kit. The money is in the refills that follow, and some of them happen at Target, where your site never sees them. Payback has to be judged on 6-month refill cohorts plus a retail holdout, not first-order ROAS.

Day 0$10 sample or $44 kit
Day 30–60first refill ($12.50–$21)
Month 3–12repeat refills (assumed 3 a year)

Talking to camera, product in hand, filmed on a phone in a real room. For Blueland the same shape works: a tablet fizzing in a bottle at the kitchen sink, a laundry-stripping bucket, the paper wrapper going in the compost.

Tabs examples from Danilo’s own program.
